02-12-12. Sunday at the Oval Maidan, Mumbai means cricket. Lots of cricket. You enter at your risk. I estimate that about one hundred games were being played at once. Admittedly the traditional leather covered balls had been replaced with tennis balls but the chance of serious pain and facial disfigurement hadn't lessened. A short video can be found here.
We took a walk along Marine Drive to Chowpatty beach which is a favourite haunt of locals and tourists alike hoping to find vendors of the local street food but found the area unusually devoid of any selling at all.
A young Rajastani man started talking to us and he showed us where to get the good local food. Later we passed a riotous Muslim parade and if I get the time and upload speed I will put that up. A few other photos from this day can be found here.
